5th overall, 4th in class. In our class we were bested only by built from the factory race cars: a Le-mans spec Viper Competition Coupe shod with Michelin slicks (ie. much faster than a Speed World Challenge GT spec car), a 680hp carbon/aluminum tubbed 2500lb Mosler MT900, a race prepped (lexan windows, etc; not a street version) Noble M400.

The only tuner "ordinary" car that was faster was a very well tuned and setup C5 Corvette driven by Danny Popp. it is a very impressive car.

For us, we did not have very good luck at the event. We did not really get to run during the practice session as the CAS connector worked loose (wasn't fully clicked in). Since the cars are gridded according to their times from previous sessions, we were gridded last for the first time attack session. Ryan Hampton drove the car from last place to 4th overall in the first session, almost passing the entire field of cars. The suspension and tires were not setup at all at this point. We made some adjustments and went out on the second session, but Danny Popp's corvette who was gridded in front of us had a loose dipstick and had to drive slow and pit in. Unfortunately as a result, we had only about 1 clean lap in that session as a result. The front runners in the time attack would actually catch up to the back of the pack within 2-3 laps, so it was difficult to get a clean lap unless it was done within the first 2-3 laps.

At this point, I double checked my datalogs and found that the car was only running 13psi of boost, instead of 22psi I try to run at time attacks. So I remapped the boost table and we were confident of running at least deep into 1:34s for the last session. Unfortunately in the rush to get the car out, I forgot to latch the hood pins, so our last session was cut short.

Overall it could have been worse, and I was relatively happy to finish in the top 5.

We then drove all night from Virginia to St. Louis, and got a mobile glass place to come out in the morning to replace the cracked windshield. We did a practice session in the afternoon at Gateway, and got about all of 4 laps in. Unfortunately we had a issue with the catch can overflowing and loosing oil, the car ran low on oil a few times on Saturday. We got the catch can issue fixed Saturday evening, but on Sunday the car started developing a knocking sound from the heads. We tried to run the car anyway but the problem got severe after the first lap Sunday morning, and the engine would no longer idle or make power. We therefore had to pack up and leave before the time attack sessions started. I would like to apologise for all the Z folks who showed up at the St. Louis event to support us...

All in all, we haven't had the best luck this weekend, but I am glad we did relatively well at the Grassroots Motorsports event. Be sure to pick up that issue as there will be some mention/pictures of us.

Finally, I would like to thank to our sponsors:
